The new winery at Long Rail Gully is capable of crushing 300 tonnes of grapes a year from 60 acres of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Yields are kept to a minimum and fruit is carefully handled in the winery.
The winery is fitted out with all new modern equipment, including French-manufactured Vaslin Bucher membrane press (the first of its size in Australia) enabling gentle processing.
A mixture of Old and New World techniques are used to achieve the production of premium wines. Several other wineries also have their wines made at our Long Rail Gully Winery.
Fruit from Long Rail Gully's closely managed vineyards show strong varietal primary fruit flavours, typical characters of a cool climate region.
